Women are ’Traditional Clippers,’ Men Favor ’High-Tech’ Coupons

Men and women use coupons differently. Are your store coupons maximizing the potential of bringing both demographics into your garden center? Across both genders, newspapers (62%) and direct mail/circulars (58%) hold the top spots for finding deals. But when it comes to technology and coupons, men start to become more involved in the shopping process, with coupon, retailer and brand websites coming in right behind newspapers as places where they actively seek out coupons. Still, women are the primary users of traditional coupons, sourcing them in stores, on packaging and in magazines.
